Immigration & Asylum (IAAS Accredited) Immigration Solicitor/Level 2 Caseworker

About us: Compass Immigration Law is an established legal practice with a head office based in Bolton. We specialise in Immigration, Asylum, Human Rights and Nationality Law and assist client’s in a private capacity and those funded by the Legal Aid Agency.

Job Description: Compass Immigration Law are currently looking for an experienced Immigration and Asylum (IAAS Accredited) Immigration Solicitor/Level 2 Caseworker with comprehensive expertise of dealing with a full range of immigration and asylum work with a predominant emphasis on Legal Aid funded work.

The successful candidate should have experience of working under a Legal Aid Contract and to SQM standards. You will have conduct of a full caseload and be expected to work independently and under the supervision of the Principal Supervising Immigration Consultant.

The role will include travel to other offices and outreach locations.

Key Skills Required: You must:

  • Be registered with the Law Society as an Immigration and Asylum (IAAS) Solicitor/Level 2 Senior Caseworker;
  • Have thorough and up to date knowledge of immigration, asylum and nationality laws; and
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Salary: Salary is dependent on experience.

Job type: 12 months fixed term – Possibility for extension or permanent role.

Office Junior / Receptionist

About us: Compass Immigration Law is an established legal practice with a head office based in Bolton and a secondary office based in Preston. We specialise in Immigration, Asylum, Human Rights and Nationality Law and assist clients in a private capacity and those funded by the Legal Aid Agency.

Job Description: With Compass Immigration Law, no two days are the same for an office junior / receptionist. Working independently and as a unit, you will be at the forefront of providing and maintaining our record for excellent client care. Your ability to use initiative, your flair for organisation and your extreme attention to detail shall place you in great stead to thrive as a valued member of our growing team.

Your job role will include, but not limited to:

  • Greeting clients
  • Screening calls and taking detailed, accurate messages where necessary
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Photocopying, faxing, binding and filing all company documents
  • Managing and distributing all incoming and outgoing post and couriers
  • Updating client information on the company database
  • Weekly stationery inventories to ensure all stock is up to date and ordering more when necessary

Essential requirements:

  • Confident with all Microsoft Office packages
  • Polite telephone manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Friendly and helpful
  • Trustworthy and reliable

Though not essential, it would be desirable if you have previous administrative experience.

Salary: Salary is dependent on experience.
